Why is the sky blue?

Who are you? Do you RP?
I'm Emma (discantus) and I've been RPing for about three years now. I like vegetarian food, knitting, taking naps, collecting useless trivia and Harry Judd. Special, huh?

Why another RPG icon community?
Because frankly, I wasn't satisfied with many of the other ones that are out there. I'm picky, OK?

Can I join the community / add it to my f-list?
Of course! It's encouraged! I'll even add you back!

Why do you only have 40 icons of the PB I want?
I believe in the old saying quality vs. quantity. Plus I probably got bored at around icon number 35. Feel free to check my affiliates for more icons!

How come you sometimes don't post for weeks?
I'm in nursing school. It is a lot of work and at times, very stressful. As much as I like making icons, I just don't have the time while writing care plans and studying for tests on renal failure.

Do I have to credit?
Yes. End of story.

How do I credit icons?


Who do I credit?
You can credit me or credit the community. Or you can do both! As long as discantus or delineate is credited, I'm good.

You don't own the pictures. Why do I have to credit?
First off, I took the time to make the icons. It is a pain in the ass to collect images/make screen captures and it's an even bigger pain in the ass to deal with screen caps from independent/foreign movies. Yes, I know we don't own the images or the people in them. It's just right to give credit where credit is due. How would you feel if you worked on something, only to have someone else claim it as their own? Secondly, if you liked the icons, other people probably will too. With crediting, they can easily find their way back here and find what they are looking for. Share the love people!

In the end, I can't make you credit and I'm not going to hunt you down, nor will I locked down this journal in an effort to keep my icons safe. I'm too lazy to go back and lock all my entries. If you want to be an asshole and not credit, that's your business.

ZOMG CAN I ADD TEXT TO THESE ICONS???
I would really prefer you didn't.

But why?
Most RP communities would rather you not have text on your icons, and while some are very tasteful, some are just downright awful. It just gives a cleaner, more aesthetically pleasing look to your character's journal. However, if you want to add a border, go right ahead. I don't like them, but I know some people do so knock yourself out with the borders. If you want to change them such as changing the skin/hair color, just ask! 99.9% of the time I will say yes as long as you let me see the finished result. :D

Do you take requests?
At the moment, I'm not taking request. Most of my icons are made because I either a) need them for a character or b) found a PB that struck my fancy. Requests are very hard for me to fill. However, feel free to suggest someone! I love finding new PB and my WireImage account needs to pay for itself.

My character has weird color hair/eye/skin! Can you help?
Honestly, I'll probably have to pass on this. It can be a frustrating process, but you are more than welcome to take your own stab at it! Just please credit me for the base.

Do you have icons of so and so?
Check the two directories.

What is hot linking and why is it a mortal sin?
Bandwidth theft or "hot linking" is direct linking to a website's files (images, video, etc.). An example would be using a tag to display a JPEG image you found on someone else's web page so it will appear on your own site, journal, weblog, forum posting, etc. A simple analogy for bandwidth theft: Imagine a random stranger plugging into your electrical outlets, using your electricity without your consent, and you paying for it.

Just don't do it.
